Appleinsider: Apple paid services users reach record 816 million
More than 800 million people have subscribed to Apple's various digital services. The news was reported by Appleinsider.
The statistics were released during Apple's second quarter report. Company chief Tim Cook said the number of service users reached a record 816 million. According to Cook, this includes consumers of Apple products who have signed up for at least one paid service.
Apple's paid services include iCloud cloud storage, Apple Music streaming service, Apple TV+ online cinema, and various paid apps in the App Store.
According to reporters, Apple has steadily increased its profits from services: the company earned $19.8 billion in the quarter. A year ago, subscriptions accounted for about $17 billion for the company. In January 2022, Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri said about 785 million consumers subscribed to Apple's various services.
In early April, Apple began testing a new type of subscription service that allows it to quietly increase the cost of services. TechCrunch reporters drew attention to the outrage among users of the company's digital products.
