Samsung introduces repair mode to protect smartphone data on operating system
Samsung engineers have found a way to protect phone data when the owner takes it to a service center (SC). This is reported by the company's Korean website.
According to the description of the new feature, the repair mode can be activated in the settings of Samsung smartphones. According to the company, the user of the device can send it to an authorized private service center and not worry about the safety of data: contacts, messages, photos, etc. In repair mode, the device will be locked.
Once this mode is activated, the smartphone will enter recovery mode. In this case, it will not be possible to turn on the device and access the data. As explained by Samsung, once the phone is returned to the owner, the owner will be able to enter a digital password and regain access. The feature will appear on Galaxy S22 series devices and may be added to the software of other devices from the brand in the future.
"Recently, Samsung Electronics has been steadily adding functions to protect sensitive personal information on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets," said representatives of the Korean company.
