According to users, they tried to install a new version of the operating system, but encountered problems. Experts speculate that the failure occurred because the update was released with an error. The update was released on June 23.
According to the authors, the irony is that the update KB5014668 was supposed to fix several system problems. Specifically, the update was supposed to fix a bug that prevented Windows 11 from upgrading to new versions. As noted by journalists, Microsoft engineers apparently failed to fix the long-standing problem.
However, some users managed to install the new update on their PCs. As an example, the authors cited a user nicknamed CamiAraceli, who contacted Windows technical support representatives and installed the update after several cycles of restarting the computer.
In early July, analysts at AdDuplex reported that Windows 11 was Microsoft's third most popular operating system. The new operating system achieved a 23.1% share.
