9to5mac: Always-On-Display on iPhone will allow wallpaper to be displayed on locked screen

Journalists from 9to5mac have described one of the main features of Apple's next-generation flagship. This is reported on the media website.

According to experts, one of the main features of the new iPhones will be the Always-On-Display function. The beta version of iOS 16 mentions this feature. Journalists noted that the Always-On-Display will allow reference information - date and time - to be displayed on the locked screen.

In addition, a detailed description of the technology was found in Apple's operating system. It turns out that the current wallpaper is also displayed on the disabled screen. In this case, the image will get a so-called "sleep" version, which will be displayed on the smartphone screen.

Apparently, this is just the branded wallpaper added by Apple. Thus, support for Always-On-Display mode will receive a background, depicting a clown fish - as they were present on the first iPhone. Only the high-end phones -- iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max -- will receive Always-On-Display support.

In late July, sources told DigiTimes that high-end smartphones in the iPhone 14 series will receive standard LPDDR5 RAM. Apparently, the more expensive phones will be equipped with the A16 processor, while the cheaper ones will be equipped with the A15.
