A U.S. filmmaker is raising funds for a film based on the game S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

American director Steven Hancock, who specializes in short films, wanted to make a film based on the video game series S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Hancock intends to fund the project through the Kickstarter platform, where fundraising has begun. The director has set a low threshold: $250,000, of which $100,000 has already been raised.

The film is expected to be produced by the small film company Interspace Anomalies ("Dollhouse," "Overlord," and a few others, hardly known to the general public). Stephen Hancock is honest: we are talking about a fan film.

The short film will be called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of the Zone. The story is about a stalker who leads a group of mercenaries into the Zone to investigate a strange signal. Along the way they will encounter all manifestations of the anomalous terrain.

The film is expected to be shot in the fall and winter of this year and could be released in 2023 on the project's author's YouTube channel.
