Samsung Galaxy S23 likely won't have proprietary Exynos chip Snapdragon better

Samsung is likely to completely abandon proprietary Exynos chips in its Galaxy S23 smartphones. It will prefer Snapdragon chips, which, according to PhoneArena, account for about 70%. The reason for the rejection of Exynos, claims analyst and insider Ming Chi Kuo, is the superiority of the rival platform in 5G.

One could speculate, writes the publication, that the problem lies in technical issues related to heat and performance degradation of Samsung's solution for 5G networks. However, according to Ming Chi Kuo, the new 5G modem for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (unofficial designation) is simply "too good" to be replicated.

It is noted that the Snapdragon X70 will not pursue higher speeds, stopping at 10 gigabits, but will add several additional features, including more advanced artificial intelligence algorithms.
